Greeting

Welcome to the Home of

Henry County RC Club

We are an AMA Chartered Remote Control Airplane Club.

The Henry County RC Club is comprised of members representing many facets of the hobby. From gas to electric, stick built to foamies, warbirds, sport flyers, scale, sailplanes, ducted fan jets, plus helicopters and of course the growing-in-popularity drones, we fly a little bit of everything.

With our wide variety of ages and skill levels, the field sees activity on most days of the week. And a fabulous facility it is, with generous airspace, a spacious runway, grass strip, covered workspaces, electricity, water and a rest room.

We welcome new entrants and have many highly experienced members trained and authorized to introduce new flyers to the sport.

FIELD FEATURES

The field is located on a landfill owned by Henry County, which sits on a slight rise from the surrounding terrain.

The field has a blacktop paved runway, 40' wide by 400' long, oriented north-south. Adjacent to the runway, nearer the flying stations, is a useable grass landing strip.

The useable airspace measures approximately 1500' (460m) north-south, and roughly 700' (210m) east-west. It is bordered by a recycling center on the north, and the ballfield complex to the south. Both NO-FLY zones.

There are 5 covered shelters with workbenches, electric power, paved floors and electric fans. The center shelter has a drink vending machine and cooler. There is an oversized, wheelchair-accessible Port-o-Potty.

There are 5 flying stations, plus warmup and tuning benches, and a runup pad for larger models.
